This policy explains how AI Study Tools handles information when you sign in, upload material, generate study content, and use saved results.

Information we collect

Google sign-in provides a Google account identifier, email address, and name. We store these to identify your account. We do not receive your Google password or request access to Gmail or Google Drive.

We store the text extracted from your files, pasted notes, material names, generated exams and guides, source references, answers, study progress, feedback, and generation-usage records. Hosting and service providers also process technical request information, such as IP addresses and timestamps, to operate and secure the service.

What happens to an upload

Files are uploaded to our server so we can extract readable text. For cloud uploads, file chunks are temporarily stored in our Neon database. Successful processing removes those chunks; incomplete uploads expire after 15 minutes and are cleaned up when a new upload starts. The extracted text remains in your account until deleted. This service is not a backup of the original file.

AI processing

When you request an exam or guide, the source sections you selected are sent to DeepSeek with generation instructions and your output settings. Our generation request does not include your Google sign-in details. If selected text itself contains personal information, that information will be sent as part of the text. Do not upload sensitive personal information or material you are not permitted to share.

DeepSeek processes requests under its own policies. We do not promise that a provider has zero retention or uses no data for model improvement unless that has been contractually established. Review DeepSeek’s privacy policy before sending material.

Providers and storage

Vercel hosts the application, Neon stores account and study data, Google provides sign-in, and DeepSeek generates learning content. These providers may process data outside your country. Access to saved study content is restricted by account; the service does not offer public sharing of your uploaded material.

Cookies and browser storage

Essential cookies keep you signed in and secure the Google sign-in flow. Browser session storage remembers your selected material, settings, progress references, and a draft during sign-in. Local storage notifies other tabs when sign-in changes. We currently do not embed advertising trackers or Google Analytics.

Retention and deletion

You can delete a material in the application. This removes its saved text, associated outputs, and study sessions from the active library. Account records, generation accounting, and some operational job data may remain for quota enforcement, troubleshooting, and security. Provider backups and logs have their own retention periods; removing a material is not a promise of immediate deletion from every backup or provider system.

Account deletion is not currently a self-service button. A verified account-data request requires manual handling. We cannot restore material you have deleted from the active library.

Security and your choices

We use HTTPS and account-level access checks. No online system can guarantee absolute security. You may stop using the service, delete material, and sign out at any time. Applicable privacy rights depend on your location and circumstances.
